Week 10 Summary

Week 10 started with a day off for our Switch360 Participants as it was public holiday on the Easter Sunday. We are getting close now to the finalising Stages 3 of the SWITCH 360 Project with 2 weeks left for our participants to continue on their journey to discovering, showcasing, experiencing new ways to live better. This will help them to be better, perform better and ultimately live better by implementing them into their routine for a sustainable better life. Read on to find out more.

The Week

Sunday 23rd April

This was another down time day for the participants as it was Easter Sunday and our participants and partners of Switch360 were able to enjoy some family time. It was also our Head Coach, Phill’s 51st Birthday so a down time day was very welcoming.

 

Monday 24th April

Monday was a morning spent with our Physio Partner, Joe Maynard from the Osteopathic Health Centre Dubai, where he showed our participants how to use movement, stretching and some equipment to help with their flexibility, this would then of course help with their performance in their fitness goals. This was conducted at  the Dubai Sports City Athletics Track and started with a session of Dynamic Flexibility and Athletic Movements and ended with Joe showing our participants how to use some equipment as well as the Qoleum products provided by our other Switch360 Partner, Rebecca Day. Tuesday 25th April

This was the 3rd session of 5 of the KO8 Bootcamps. These bootcamps are aimed at increasing the intensity levels and improving the participants fitness levels in a fun, energetic group activity and the KO8 Bootcamps and team certainly provide all of the above and much more.

Wednesday 26th April

This week saw the participants going through the final session of the  ‘Lifting For Life’ program held at the STRENGTH Gym in Al Quoz and conducted by the founder Chris Miller. Watch the video to see how they improved, how the program can help you, how understanding what you are putting your body through, and how enjoying what you do all combine to help you reach your goals.

The Lifting for Life program comprises of two training elements, Lifting for Life and Fast & Furious which can be combined as desired. Lifting for Life is more about getting tone and definition in your muscle whilst Fast & Furious helps your heart & lungs work better so you don't get as tired by everyday life.  Both elements combine to make your awesomeness shine through.  We don't care if you want to have a six pack or just want to "feel a bit fitter" what's important to us is that you're happy with the results you're getting, that you're healthier on the inside as well as on the outside.  We all come in different shapes and sizes what's important is how you feel about you.

Thursday 27th April

This was the 3rd session of 4 for our participants as they cranked up the resistance and power on the indoor flywheel cycles and pushed on with their cardio fitness goals utilising the concept of indoor group cycle classes to increase fitness levels, burn calories and have fun doing so. Flywheel is an indoor group cycles class utilising high energy music, cadence and resistance settings based on individual levels and with the awesome, vibrant and talented instructor Hoda Sawan, with FlyWheel Dubai at Burj Views in Downtown Dubai.

This is the workout that offers a chance to achieve something more, to step up onto a custom engineered bike, and ride as hard as you dare. An experience that lasts 45 or 60 minutes and includes climbs and descents, while working arms with weighted bars. It's an amazing escape that challenges your body and relaxes your mind. Our studios offer stadium-style seating, making every seat in the house a good one.

Friday 28th April

This day was a rest day for 3 of our participants but was the turn of Debbie Rogers to receive her more than welcomed Armani Spa Treatment Session at the Armani Hotel Dubai.

Saturday 22nd April

Saturday saw the participants enjoy their final  session with SEAYOU and progress from ground based Yoga to SUP (Stand Up Paddle board) Yoga at the Sofitel Hotel on the iconic man made land mass of the Palm Jumeirah, with the amazing instructor Derya Pasinler who has the ability to give you the confidence to push your body and mind and to try things you would normally see as ‘impossible’, but once you try you want to do more. She and the SEAYOU team are welcoming, friendly and efficient.

SUP Yoga is ideal for anyone who wants to improve his strength and fitness, whilst working on his balance too! As we discovered.

This is a yoga class that is practiced on a Stand-Up Paddle board instead of a yoga mat. The class takes place on the calm waters of Palm Jumeirah instead of a traditional studio setting.

SUP Yoga can be practiced by beginners and experts alike. Benefits range from core conditioning, improved balance, mental focus and practice diversification.
