Monday 10th April

Monday was a non-active day but the participants still received a surprise package of products designed to help them through this more intense stage of their journey, courtesy of Juice Plus.

Juice Plus visited us in Dubai during a recent trip and were impressed by the Switch360 Project and its concept and kindly offered to assist the participants on their journey by providing them with products that contain the Vitamins (A,C, D & E), Folic Acid, and Protein they would need to assist their dietary and nutrient requirements for this part of the project.

Tuesday 11th April

This was the participants rest day as they will as part of the final stage be doing more during the weekends, all geared towards showcasing new ways to help them live better through SWITCHDXB.

Wednesday 12th April

This stage of the project saw the participants move on from Primal Movements and Functional Movements to learning how to use their bodies correctly and effectively both with and without weight(s). They were introduced to the ‘Lifting For Life’ program held at the STRENGTH Gym in Al Quoz and conducted by the founder Chris Miller.

The Lifting for Life program comprises of two training elements, Lifting for Life and Fast & Furious which can be combined as desired. Lifting for Life is more about getting tone and definition in your muscle whilst Fast & Furious helps your heart & lungs work better so you don't get as tired by everyday life.  Both elements combine to make your awesomeness shine through.  We don't care if you want to have a six pack or just want to "feel a bit fitter" what's important to us is that you're happy with the results you're getting, that you're healthier on the inside as well as on the outside.  We all come in different shapes and sizes what's important is how you feel about you.

Thursday 13th April

Thursday was the first session of the next step in progression of utilising cycling to increase fitness levels, burn calories and have fun doing so. We progressed from individual AquaFit in a water filled pod to an indoor group cycles class utilising high energy music, cadence and resistance settings based on individual levels and awesome instructors, such as Hoda Sawan, with FlyWheel Dubai at Burj Views in Downtown Dubai.

The workout that offers a chance to achieve something more, to step up onto a custom engineered bike, and ride as hard as you dare. An experience that lasts 45 or 60 minutes and includes climbs and descents, while working arms with weighted bars. It's an amazing escape that challenges your body and relaxes your mind. Our studios offer stadium-style seating, making every seat in the house a good one.

Friday 14th April

Friday was the day our Switch360 Participants learnt how to ‘shop’. Quite simple you may think, but no, through SwitchDXB we ensure that they learn and then put into practice the various, numerous and diverse experiences of the project. They were accompanied by our Nutritionist Partner, Victoria Tipper, and were taken to the ‘RIPE MARKET’ where they were to select the food sources they would require to enable them to cook meals for themselves rather than have them delivered as in Stage 2 of the project. Our Organic Food Partner Ripe Market had kindly arranged for them to be able to select their food sources, for FREE, under the guidance of Victoria in order to learn what food sources to shop for, where to shop for them and how places such as Ripe Market can be a valuable location and service to aid them live better.

The Ripe Markets are the only place in the UAE where locals, expats and tourists come together to share their love of fresh, seasonal, organic, local and handmade produce. Ripe provides organic fruit and vegetables, superfoods, tea, local raw honey, local organic eggs, gluten free items and more at all of our weekly markets in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Saturday 15th April

Saturday saw the participants progress from ground based Yoga to SUP (Stand Up Paddle board) Yoga with our Non Motorised Water Sports Partner SEAYOU. This was a fun, active and new experience for our participants and one which they thoroughly enjoyed, despite the odd slip and fall into the amazing waters of the Arabian Gulf at the Sofitel Hotel on the iconic man made land mass of the Palm Jumeirah.

SUP Yoga is ideal for anyone who wants to improve his strength and fitness, whilst working on his balance too! As we discovered.

This is a yoga class that is practiced on a Stand-Up Paddle board instead of a yoga mat. The class takes place on the calm waters of Palm Jumeirah instead of a traditional studio setting.

SUP Yoga can be practiced by beginners and experts alike. Benefits range from core conditioning, improved balance, mental focus and practice diversification.
